Talk: Martin Chambi, the neo-indigenous photographer

Chambi’s magnificent photographs, from the southern Peruvian Andes taken on the early 20th century, will be discussed by his grandson Teo Allain Chambi.

Teo Allain Chambi, the grandson of Martin Chambi, has preserved an impressive archive of original glass plates photographic images. Teo Allain will discuss Martin Chambi's work. A recent Dartmouth project has been taken place in Cuzco, Peru to organize and catalogue thousands of photographs. http://now.dartmouth.edu/2014/01/dartmouth-intervenes-in-peruvian-photography-archive/
