Join us for a week-long celebration of Argentine Tango at Dartmouth College from July 22 to July 27! Argentine Tango Week offers a variety of events, including public dance classes, house concerts, live music performances, and social dances. This immersive experience is open to everyone, from beginners to seasoned dancers, and is designed to deepen your appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Argentine Tango.

Other Events: In addition to these featured events, the week includes various music and dance workshops led by our guest instructors. These workshops are open to students of SPAN 43.06 and the dance group "Dancing with Parkinson's" (Dartmouth Health). Adriana Salgado
Adriana Salgado is an esteemed tango dancer, teacher, and choreographer. As the Argentine Tango USA Champion from 2019 to 2021, she has been a professional dancer and teacher for over twenty-five years. With a classical ballet background, she began studying tango in Buenos Aires under renowned masters. Her international performances include the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Aruba, Argentina, Canada, Indonesia, and her native Colombia. Based in New York since 2007, Adriana has taught and performed nationwide. She is known for her smooth, romantic, and elegant style, focusing on connection, posture, and technique fundamentals. Adriana is the USA Stage Tango (2019) and Tango de Pista (2021) Champion. She currently teaches private lessons, group classes, and performs in New York City.

Leonardo Sardella
Leonardo Sardella, a professional tango dancer, choreographer, and teacher, began his career in Buenos Aires. He has performed in prominent Argentine theaters such as the Colon and Cervantes theaters. In 2011, he moved to New York City and co-founded the Walter Perez Malevaje dance company and later Friends of Argentine Tango. Leonardo has participated in international tango festivals and performed in major cities worldwide. Known for his ability to exchange roles of leader and follower smoothly and creatively, he has served as a jury member for the Argentine Tango World Cup and other competitions. His choreography for "Male Tango" earned multiple HOLA awards and Latin ACE Award nominations. He has also been part of Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing.
Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet
The Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet, led by Latin Grammy award-winning bassist, composer, and arranger Pedro Giraudo, is one of today's most compelling tango ensembles. Their style blends traditional tango with modern elements like jazz. Pedro Giraudo has collaborated with prominent tango artists and has been featured in Ruben Blades' Grammy-winning release "Tangos." The quartet includes Nicolás Danielson (violin), Javier Sánchez (bandoneón), and Emiliano Messiez (piano), all distinguished musicians with impressive careers. They perform at notable venues such as Lincoln Center and the Moab Music Festival, continuing to innovate while respecting tango's rich musical heritage.
