Join for a conversation and ligh refreshments with Dr. Rosa Isela Aguilar Montes de Oca about her exprience working with migrants and refugees from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Palestine, displaced by war in the city of Sulh, Thuringen Germany.

Professor Montes de Oca holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. She will share with us her experience working with immigrants and refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran in the former East Germany. Her conversation will focus on the construction and deconstruction of identity and cultural space and the effects of civilizational disruption on families displaced by violence/war.
