Dossier Voces de Brasil in Casa de las Américas Journal, Cuba

This past February Brazil was honored as the guest country at the 32nd Havana International Book Fair in Havana, Cuba. The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of Brazil Margareth Menezes and by a delegation of 15 writers, some of the most outstanding voices in contemporary Brazilian literature. Among them, Ailton Krenak, Conceição Evaristo, Frei Betto, Emicida, Cidinha da Silva, Jeferson Tenório, and Marcelo D' Salete.

As part of the International Book Fair, the Casa de las Américas literary magazine published the dossier Voces de Brasil, with a selection of contemporary fiction and poetry translated for the first time into Spanish. Faculty members Ingrid Brioso Rieumont and Mauricio Acuña collaborated in the organization and selection of writers. Additionally, Acuña published the article "Jorge Amado y su viaje-exilio por América Latina" and the translation of Allan da Rosa's "A nascente da língua," and Brioso Rieumont published the translation of Gustavo Castanheira's "Máquina rubro-negra."
