Language in Motion connects Dartmouth students who have intercultural experience with high school students.

Professor Silvia Spitta and Dartmouth librarian Jill Baron traveled to Cuzco, Peru, to organize and catalogue more than 40,000 glass plate negatives made by the late indigenous Peruvian photographer Martín Chambi.

Dartmouth is the top-ranked Ivy League institution and sixth overall among doctorate-granting institutions for percentage of undergraduates studying abroad, according to a report released by the Institute of International Education.

Ben Randolph ’15 is performing research with Associate Professor of Spanish Antonio Gómez, helping develop a new class, “Burning Red: Marx and Marxists in Literature and Philosophy,” which will examine Karl Marx and Marxists in literature and philosophy.

Elizabeth Polli, director of the Spanish Language Program, is one of the Dartmouth faculty members who are leading language instruction into the 21st century with Twitter, blogs, and other Generation Y-friendly pedagogical techniques.

Sara Muñoz comes to Dartmouth from Princeton University, where she earned her PhD. Muñoz, as an assistant professor of Spanish.

Dartmouth’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese will host a major international symposium, “The Independence Effect,” examining the influences behind independence movements in Latin America.
