Professor Rebecca Biron gave the opening keynote address for the Simposio Internacional Elena Garro. Assistant Professor Noelia Cirnigliaro’s edition is awarded the SSEMW’s prize for the Best Collaborative Project of 2013. Professor Rebecca Biron gave the opening keynote address for the Simposio Internacional Elena Garro hosted by the Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM) in Mexico City, September 24-26, 2014. With over 150 people in attendance, the event honored the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of Elena Garro's most widely read novel, Los recuerdos del porvenir. Biron's address drew from her recently published book, Elena Garro and Mexico's Modern Dreams (2013).
