Carmen Bascunan-Sedlacek

Senior Lecturer of Spanish

A lawyer by training, I have taught Spanish as a Foreign Language since 2005. Born and raised in Chile, I started learning English as well as French as a child and later German as an adult. I always have loved languages and their relevance in getting to know about other people and cultures. Once living in the United States, I found out how rewarding it was to teach my language and share your culture with other people, understanding first hand, the difficulties people can experience. For this reason, I try to inspire in students the confidence and courage to “dare” to communicate in Spanish, providing them with the tools they need in the most practical and attractive way possible.
