Beatriz Pastor is the recipient of the Casa de las Américas Essay Prize (1983) the Huntington Best Teacher Award (1984) and The Pat and John Rosenwald Endowed Professorship (1987). She is the founding director of the Dartmouth Institute on New Directions in Latin American Literature and Criticism (1988-93). She is an elected member of the Cátedra Alfonso Reyes Board at  the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), since 2012. She serves on the editorial board of the Revista de Crítica Literaria Latinoamericana. Since 1992 she is a member of the Proyecto Trasatlántico, directed by Professor Julio Ortega  (Brown University), and she is the general coordinator for the Proyecto’s  yearly Jornadas Trasatlánticas in Spain.
